Dear Valued Patients,
We hope that you are staying safe and healthy as we all navigate from this "new normal" and LA County slowly reopens for business. Dr. Mark Chung will be returning to examine patients starting on June 1st, Monday - Friday, 10:00-4:00.
Dr. Irene Yim will resume seeing our Saturday patients on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. We have instituted a checklist of guidelines for both your safety and ours, and would like to share them with you:
The front door will remain locked, even during office hours. When greeted at the door, we will immediately take your temperature. If it is over 100 with two readings, we will respectfully ask you to not enter and see your Primary Care Physician (PCP). If you have a fever, respiratory illness, or have been exposed to anyone with Covid-19 in the past 14 days, we will also ask you not to enter.
Masks or face coverings will be required to enter the office. This should come as no surprise since this is mandated for all of LA County when in public. If you refuse to wear one, you will not be allowed to enter.
Once inside, we will ask you to use hand sanitizer or go to wash your hands before touching anything. The only exception is if you enter wearing a new set of gloves.
Please respect social distancing of 6' with the front staff or if there are other patients in the waiting room.
We will be scheduling eye exams every 45 minutes rather than the usual 30 minutes to avoid overlapping patients.
We will likely be dilating more patients, so please be prepared to leave with some kind of sun protection, or a disposable sunshield will be provided for you. If dilated, you will have difficulty reading up close for 2-3 hours.
We have removed all non-essential items in the office, including magazines, brochures, and displays.
We ask that patients with exam appointments enter the office alone, unless it is with a minor or a caregiver. If there is someone accompanying you who is not either of these, they will be asked to wait in their car.
We thank you in advance for adhering to these new policies for the safety and benefit of everyone.
Prior to June 1, office hours will continue to be 11-3:00 M-F, and Dr. Yim will be continuing to see a limited number of exams. You can continue to place orders over the phone (323.650.0337) or via website (drmarkchung.com), and we can continue shipping contact lenses and glasses to you. At these times of lessened income for many of our patients, we will continue to run a special on a glasses package with frame/lens/anti-reflection coating at a very reasonable price. If you need to pick up something from the office, or drop something off, please call the office first so we can be prepared for your arrival, or your order can be ready to deliver to you at the front door.
Thank you for your patience with our office re-opening to the new normal. In the meantime, stay safe and healthy and please continue to practice all safety guidelines. We will get through this together.
